It was the golden hour. The time when photographic magic happens. As the sun begins to settle down for the evening, a magical palette emerges and announces itself. It creates a mood that has an immediate call to action. Just as I cross the bridge I see the full image. A street-art mural that literally takes my breath away (c/o Raul Ruiz). I interpret the picture as a mother gently blowing kisses to her sweet baby as he is lulled away into a peaceful, deep sleep. He dreams of everything we’ve long since forgotten. In his magical journey, we see some of the characters that feed his imagination and delight his senses. As the clouds become filled with fire and drama, they seem to emanate from the top of the building. Like a vortex, they serve to put the finishing touches on the image.
