The following shots were inspired by my participation in the Purdue Outing Club Adventure Race (POCAR). In years past, I have participated in this 48Hour, 50-Mile Orienteering Race which takes place in Southern Indiana on MLK weekend.
Although I have participated in this race 6 times and finished only twice, it is still one of the most difficult mental/physical challenges I've yet to encounter. This year I visited the racers to test my photographic skills. The goal was to transport the viewer right into the racing environment, as if they were on the team. Their headlamps and/or fire from a fire/water station providing the only light for the exposure.
